In last night’s showdown, it was the hard-core rocker, Adam Lambert vs. the soft, acoustic sounds of Kris Allen. After almost 100 million votes were cast… Kris Allen was named the winner of American Idol Season 8!
Telling by the look on his face, Kris was a wee-bit shocked! The Conway, AR native told host, Ryan Seacrest, “It feels good, man, but Adam deserves this. I don’t know what to feel right now, this is crazy.” As Ryan handed him his well-deserving trophy, Kris uttered, “Thank you-you guys are the reason that all of us are here!”
Other than the announcement of the winner, the finale was chuck full of guests and special appearances! Keith Urban, KISS, Queen, Fergie, Lionel Richie, David Cook, Steve Martin and Jason Mraz took the stage to sing with the Top 13 contestants.
American Idol will be back in January to start the whole crazy journey again!
