Meet & Greet: Vamp Diaries’ Nina Dobrev

If you haven’t watch the latest member of the vampire bandwagon… I suggest you do! The new CW series, The Vampire Diaries is based on the L.J. Smith’s books of the same name. The plot is centered around the world of Elena Gilbert, a beautiful and promising girl caught in a love triangle with vampire brothers… YEAH! Definitely going to get interesting!
Elena is played by relative new-comer, Nina Dobrev. The 20 year-old was born in Bulgaria, but moved to Canada at age two. Growing up in Toronto gave Nina many opportunities to dabble in dance, gymnastics, theater, music and acting. She attended the Dean Armstrong Acting school where she was discovered by many talent scouts.
Now living in LA, Nina is know most for her role as single teenage mother, Mia Jones on Degrassi: The Next Generation, but has a few films under her belt: Fugitive Pieces, My Daughter’s Secret, MTV’s The American Mall and Never Cry Werewolf. She recently finished production on Chloe, co-starring Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfriend and Liam Neeson.
Nina has been in the news lately due to her August 22, 2009 arrest, along with castmates, Sara Canning, Kayla Ewell, Krystal Vayda and Candice Accola. The girls were doing a photo-shoot near I-75 (a major interstate in GA) and were hanging from the guardrail… aka: being “distracting!” They were charged with disorderly conduct and released on bond.
The Vampire Diaries airs on the CW Thursday nights at 8PM. It is not too late to get caught up! And the vampire brothers I mentioned… they are not hard to look at either… Im just sayin’–Check it out!
